Chamber of Commerce
We are passionate about supporting our local economy and the small businesses that make it thrive. Mackenzie is currently serving as 2nd chair on the board of the Comox Valley Chamber of Commerce — comprised of 12 business leaders from our community and tasked with helping provide governance and direction to the organization.
Young Professionals Comox Valley
Mackenzie Gartside & Associates is a proud sponsor of the Young Professionals Comox Valley, and both Mackenzie and Kevin are members and have served on the executive committee (as Social and IT chairs, respectively). YPCV is a relatively new group focused on promoting social interaction, professional development and community involvement to help support the growth of tomorrow's entrepreneurs and community leaders. Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
Between 2005-2009, Mackenzie served as the JDRF Family Chair for northern Vancouver Island. Supported by the JDRF staff in Victoria and working with an amazing and dedicated local volunteer network, she organized events such as the annual Telus Walk to Cure Diabetes to raise money and awareness awareness for finding a cure. Our office continues to support the JDRF through our annual Halloween fundraiser and volunteering with the Telus Walk to Cure Diabetes.
JDRF Halloween Glowstick Fundraiser
In 2009 Mackenzie Gartside & Associates began the JDRF Halloween Glowstick Fundraiser in the Comox Valley. Glowsticks are a great alternative (or addition) to giving out candy to the trick-or-treaters at Halloween, as they're fun and exciting for all children (and make the kids more visible too).
